Title design for Hannah Mayree: Songs of Reclamation, presented in Season 4 of In the Making on PBS. Mayree explores how the banjo, an instrument with African origins.
Approach
I sourced the typography and designed the title sequence, using pacing, composition, and motion to establish a clear and expressive tone.

Muted yellow tones pull from the visual textures of Black banjo culture, sun-faded materials, archival prints, and the patina of time, evoking a quiet sense of memory, resilience, and cultural inheritance.





OutcomeThe final title sequence provides a strong visual entry point into the film, setting context and mood while integrating seamlessly within the broader series framework.
